Profile: Knubley, the accidental, grassroots senior official
My story on Lobby Monitor today is a profile of the Deputy Minister of Industry Canada, John Knubley. Fortunately he was willing to provide me with an interview, albeit by email, and plenty of others were willing to talk to me about him, which made my job a lot easier.
A freelance journalist in the Parliamentary Press Gallery. I contribute to Blacklock's Reporter and Loonie Politics, and wrote the Politics on TV column for Macleans.ca. I served as the Political Editor for Outlooks - Canada's GLBT Magazine, and have contributed to the Xtra chain, Ottawa Xpress, the Hill Times, the Ottawa Citizen, iPolitics.ca and The Canadian Press. I'm also an occasional talking head on CTV News Channel.
